St. Louis

Thursday, July 14, 2005

Okay, ready for a real adventure? Well, we have one for you. Alex and I are going to be traveling to the great city of St. Louis, MO during October break from school. We both went there when we were little but don't really remember much, so we figured 'why not?'. We have some plans laid out, but nothing finalized yet. I will be posting updates, so stay tuned!

Hicks!  Not the Undergrad Library

Friday, July 01, 2005

I HATE HICKS, There is a statement! I have had so many problems living in the middle of nowhere. I grow up near a major city all my life and figured that since I lived in a city I can live anywhere. I take that back now a full retraction of that statement! Let’s evaluate why I can not live in the sticks.
I figure living in the middle of nowhere cost more money than in a real city (lets exclude Indy shall we!!). In the three weeks I have been here I found that serve and protect means shit around here. Police only are here to harass and give out tickets! At least what I have ran across in nowhere Indiana! For a place that is supposed to be rude and unfriendly police officers tend to help you more in a major city than the middle of nowhere. Why do I say that? Well several weeks ago my keys dropped into my trunk just as I was shutting it. I immediately called the police to help me get into my car. Instead of hearing we will be right there and see what we can do the lady was rude told me to call a towing service and hung up. Talk about professionalism, but what do I expect I am in the middle of nowhere professionalism is bullshit here. I would rant on for an hour but I like to start making a habit of closing on a positive note (Ps check my Rant page more on this topic).
Yesterday I was no longer poor since my parents paid off some stuff they said they would. I also planned a romantic day Sunday with Stephanie so I am happy about that as well. I need to remember to do this more often hence why I am putting this note into my blog and possible and thing that will remind me to do it more frequently. I have like a million things going on in my head at any given time. I think of something and lose it soon after. I think I am going to start using my PDA more now since I come up with cool ideas for steph and me to do but never plan it. I usually just do it so. Anyway I have to go back into the real world clean and cook some food.

THE BOSS

Thursday, June 09, 2005

Today I went to the doctor to get a reference in order to see a retina specialist since the Eye clinic told me I need a general doctors referral for my PPO to be accepted. It was funny the doctor gave me a check up and gave me medication for allergies, but no referral. I left and then returned when I got back because I realized that he did not give me a referral. When I got back and told the nurse I forgot the referral she took the doctor a side and yelled at him.
Last time I checked Doctor was the boss and the nurses auxiliary staff to help the doctor. I was more shocked to see the doctor let the nurse yell at him. Then after that he calls me back in and bitches about how he did what I came in for and I did not tell him about the referral. If the doctor could read my chart the last line of the chart said I needed to be referred to a retina specialist. After all that the doctor gave me a referral. On top of it all the secretary told me I had to call the retinal specialist and ask for his provider number!!
THE BOSS is always the boss. You have a chain of command for many reasons. When the chain of command is F*cked Up then hell breaks loose. In the doctors office the doctor seems to have lost ground as a Boss and a MAN. A nurse or subordinent never runs the show like in the military a petty officer does not talk back to a ensign or any officer. In the future I have to choose a better physician. Why? Well will you have a private giving orders instead of a Officer that is more experience and training? No, just like a doctor. Enough of my rant...

Last Full Day

Sunday, June 05, 2005

Today we did more since it was our last day. My dad had to do some business to help my grandfather. The whole day was one place after another. We went to see my uncle setho , and then my grandfather's accountant martos. After we did most of our running around in the morning and afternoon we started to enjoy the island some more. My dad took me to a restaurant that is under the ground in a cave. Here is a photo my dad took of me sitting in the restaurant:
After the restaurant my dad and I started to repack to go home tomorrow.

Day 2

Today when I got up my grandfather's servants prepared breadfest. I had eggs served with red onions and toast. I had some orange juice and after all that the best part Dominican Coffee. We then went to church. I have to say this was the fastest service I have ever remember going to in a catholic mass 35mins. After church with my grandfather we went to a Italian village called (need to ask my dad) :

Another family member tagged along Franky. This is Franky and myself at the auditorium in the village:

After a little we all ate some really good food. I had lobster, Shrimp, and Cod it was really good with some special Dominican Creole sauce. Later that night me and my dad went to a nice restruant my my grandfather's house to eat some dessert. I had Dominican rum cake and Irish coffee. My dad got a flan. Both very good.
