I read your post and you make some really good points. In fact, it is refreshing to see a fellow Catholic who is not blinded by the ideology of the GOP.  My question to you regards this statement:

We do believe that as Christians we all should never think that abortion is an answer, but not everyone in the U.S. are Christians.

But, is abortion necessarily a religious issue? This statement seems to insinuate that it is a matter of faith rather than a matter of human rights and social justice. You can correct me if I am wrong.
